The Vanishing Hitchhiker. 3 Jan. 2009. Web. 22 Oct. 2012
There are different versions of this legend. According to Troy Taylor on a cold rainy night, a young man on his way to a party gave a ride to a young attractive woman who agreed to go to the dance with him. Once it was over he offers to give her a ride home because it was cold he gave her his coat to wear. When they got to her house and he look back to informed her they had arrived she was gone. But since she had take his coat, he decide to go knocked on the door to get it back at his suprise he was informed by an old lady that the woman he was talking about was death. That she had a car accident ten years ago but the guy not believing went to the cementary that the old lady had describe. At the cementary he found his coat nealty folded on top of the stone with the girl's name on it. In other stories such as the one told by David Emery doesn't included much detail but has the same contain of the woman asking for a ride and once at the destination she vanishing. When ask were is she they came to be informed that she is die and she asked everyone for a ride home hoping that one day she will finally make it home.
